Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
Most people don’t come to therapy knowing what kind of approach they need.
They come because something feels heavy, stuck, or off—and they want to feel more like themselves again.
At Reclaim & Rise, we honour that. Your story, your nervous system, and your way of healing are completely your own. That’s why we don’t use a one-size-fits-all model.
Our therapists are trained in a wide range of evidence-based, body-aware, and emotionally attuned approaches.
The four categories below aren’t boxes to fit into—they’re simply the foundations we draw from to support your process in a way that feels safe and right for you.

Cognitive & Skills-Based Approaches
Focuses on how you think, cope, respond to stress, and take meaningful action.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Helps you identify unhelpful thought patterns and shift them into more supportive ones. CBT is practical and structured, offering tools for anxiety, depression, and everyday challenges.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Teaches you skills to regulate emotions, manage stress, and improve relationships—especially helpful if things often feel “too much.”
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Focuses on what’s already working and builds short-term solutions around your strengths, instead of staying stuck in the problem.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
A collaborative and non-judgmental approach to help you explore ambivalence and take empowered steps toward change—at your own pace.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Supports you in accepting what you can’t control, connecting with your values, and taking meaningful action—even when things feel hard.
Somatic & Nervous System-Based Therapies
Focuses on nervous system regulation, trauma processing, and body awareness.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Processes trauma and emotional pain using bilateral stimulation to reduce distress without needing to relive the experience in detail.
Somatic Therapy
Uses movement, breath, and gentle awareness to help release trauma and reconnect you with your body’s sense of safety and resilience.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Helps you understand and heal the “parts” within you—like the perfectionist, inner critic, or protector—so you can lead from a calmer, more grounded self.
Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT)
Uses visualization and breathwork to process painful emotions without re-traumatizing you. It’s especially helpful for trauma, grief, anxiety, and stuck emotional patterns.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping)
Combines tapping on acupressure points with intention-setting to reduce anxiety, trauma, or overwhelm in the body.
Trauma-Informed Care
At its core, our work centers around safety, choice, and pacing. We work with—not against—your nervous system, always honouring your lived experience.
Relational & Emotion-Focused Therapies
Focuses on connection, attachment, and how you relate to others (and yourself).
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Helps you access, understand, and express emotions that may have been buried for years—supporting deeper connection in both individual and couples work.
Attachment-Informed Therapy
Explores how early relational patterns impact your ability to trust, feel safe, or express needs in adult relationships—and helps you rewrite those patterns.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Evidence-based support for couples that focuses on rebuilding trust, improving communication, and resolving conflict with care and accountability.
Strengths-Based Therapy
Helps you reconnect with your inner strengths, even when you feel depleted or stuck—focusing on what’s possible instead of what’s “wrong.”
Play Therapy
Children express emotions and process experiences through play. We use approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Play Therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy to support emotional growth, regulation, and resilience in a safe and creative space.
Insight & Meaning-Oriented Approaches
Focuses on your identity, lived experience, and the deeper story beneath the surface.
Narrative Therapy
Helps you explore and re-author the stories you’ve absorbed about who you are—so you can begin living in alignment with your own truth.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Offers insight into unconscious patterns, early life dynamics, and how they show up in your relationships, behaviours, and emotions today.
Photo Therapy
Uses symbolic or personal images to access emotion, explore identity, and process difficult experiences—especially powerful for trauma, grief, and self-discovery.
